A Story

Radha had a little parrot that carried her messages to Lord Krishna. When Radha left her body, she told the parrot to share Krishna's stories with everyone. But the parrot did not know anything about Krishna.

One day, it heard Lord Shiva telling Krishna’s stories to Parvati. When Parvati fell asleep, the parrot imitated her gentle humming to keep the stories flowing. Shiva sensed something, but the parrot flew away before he could see.

Seeking refuge with Maharishi Veda Vyasa, the parrot entered his wife's womb in a subtle form. Shiva soon came to Vyasa’s ashram looking for the parrot. Impressed by the parrot's devotion, Shiva blessed it to spread wisdom and devotion to humanity.

The parrot was born as Shukadeva, ready to fulfill its mission of spreading knowledge and love.

Shuka means Parrot. He narrated Srimad Bhagavatam to King Parikshit.
